Best Spanish Hotels - Best Hotels in Spain
Natura Palace Hotel, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote
Dawn Rushton says:
“My partner and I stayed at the Natura Palace Hotel in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote for my surprise 40th birthday present. I felt like a queen as the hotel was absolutely fantastic in every way and was by far the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. The rooms were clean, roomy and had a wonderful sea view across to Fuerteventura. The staff were friendly and helpful wherever we were – reception, bar or restaurant. I could not fault the hotel in any way whatsoever and believe me my partner is a typical Victor Meldrew when he wants to be. A fantastic holiday and well worth the surprise, as I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever.”
Sol Melia Hotel, Alicante
Sarah says:
“I recently jumped on an easyJet flight to Alicante, took a taxi into town and made for the most obvious hotel, the Sol Melia, built on a spit of land between the harbour and beach. I had the most unexpected, fantastic time. Alicante is only a few miles from Benidorm, but couldn’’t be more different, it’s a real Spanish town, but with a good mix of cheap local restaurants and upmarket harbour side joints. The hotel has a superb location, every room looking out over either the beach or Alicante’s plush marina, with beautiful sea views everywhere. Friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, 1 minute’s walk to a fantastic beach, and all 10 minutes from the airport.”
Barcelo Albatross Hotel, Illetas, Calvia, Majorca.
Amy says:
“From the moment we walked in we knew this place was very stylish and classy. We were not let down in the slightest for our week’s stay. The staff were extremely helpful, very cheerful, and always willing to give you their time. The food presented at every meal time was a gastronomic delight, colourful, well presented, and always a plentiful choice. Facilities here were always clean, tidy and in full working order. Our room was spacious and well decorated. The bathroom was absolutely top notch, and the cleaners were in on a very regular basis. Even though we did not take children with us, those that had children seemed to be well looked after. I would have absolutely no regrets about recommending this hotel to anyone. I would even go so far as to say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have been travelling abroad for over 30 years.
Balcon d’Europa Hotel, Nerja, Costa del Sol
Robert says:
“This hotel is great. Its location is perfect. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well-kept. The room was of a good size and the balcony overlooking the sea (and so close to it) is brilliant. The room was nicely decorated, a good bathroom and always thoroughly cleaned by the staff each and every day. The hotel has its own beach in a cove-type area. This is good as it appears that only hotel residents can use it. The hotel’s pool is very small and is not for swimming, but is good for a quick dip and to cool-off from the sun. There is a table tennis table. The breakfast is brilliant. Choices galore. Cereal, croissants, all types of bread, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, smoked salmon, etc. It sets you up for the day and is great. The hotel does not have the myriad facilities of other Costa del Sol hotels - but it is perfect for adults and couples. At night the Balcon de Europa is a hive of activity. There are pavement artists/cartoonists and street artists. There are numerous restaurants very nearby with most very well priced and to suit almost every taste and cuisine. There are also quite a few ice cream stalls and shops. The area is nice and relaxing. One small factor to bear in mind is that the hotel does charge for sunbeds by the beach (but free on the pool terrace) and for the room safe and minibar. There are not many hotels which I would choose to return to – but this one I most certainly will.”
Marina Luz Hotel, Cala Estancia, Majorca
Julie Watson says:
“My daughter and I took a one week break at the Marina Luz. It was in the most perfect quiet location and only a five minute walk into Ca’n Pastilla where the nightlife is quite low key but excellent for us for a stroll each evening after dinner with plenty of bars to sit and ’people watch’. We went into Palma which isn’t far and was 9 euros in a taxi, where we did plenty of shopping! The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was beautiful. We wished we had gone for two weeks!”
Playa de las Americas Resort, Tenerife
Hannah Warnes says:
“I recently went on holiday with my friend to Tenerife to the resort of Playa de las Americas. It was allocation on arrival, we were situated right by the beach - it was amazing! The whole place is so clean and tidy, and the people who lived and worked out there are the nicest by far they can’t do enough for you. It was definitely one of the best holidays I have been on and would recommend the resort to everyone I know. The only thing I was disappointed about was that I never saw any dolphins on the catamaran cruise we went on, but we did see whales and baby whales so it wasn’t that bad.”
San Anton Hotel, Granada
Ben says:
“Stayed at the Hotel San Anton in Granada in October - we were amazed at the good value for £60 per room. The room was spacious and clean, and there was a lovely 8th floor bar with panoramic views of Granada and the Alhambra open until 1am on the night we flew in and arrived at midnight desperate for a drink. Even better we found we could check in and pick up our hired car from the desk in the lobby of the hotel the next morning. The hotel is even on the drop off route of the airport bus - no need for a taxi. Simply perfect for a weekend trip.”
