The majority of Krakow’s two million annual visitors come for the numerous architectural delights and the laidback atmosphere, enlivened by a large student population. Main attractions in the city include the marketplace, Rynek Glowny, one of the biggest mediaeval squares in the world; Wawel Castle, seat of the Polish kings and now a major museum and Kazimierz, the Jewish suburb which was used to film many of the scenes in Schindler’s List. Good museums include Krakow National Museum and the Bunker Museum of Modern Art. The small centre is also excellent for bar hopping.
